About my presentation

I chose the topic of the Enneagram of personality because I like this and and it makes little sense. The Enneagram is used in humanistic psychology, is the base in some therapies. I like the humanistic psychology and I identify with the principles of this, in fact, I did not choose to be a "humanistic psychologist", humanism chose me.

In the presentation, I think my organization was well, it was a logical order. On the other hand, I think it's very difficult to organize a short presentation because the topic is very deep and complex and the presentation is very short.

If I did it again, I would try to deepen more the topic. I feel I should have talked about the essence of the Enneagram, the philosophy behind the Enneagram.

As I said in my presentation, nobody knows the author of the enneagram, but it’s born in Babylonia culture. Today, some humanistic psychologists have studied the Enneagram and make contemporary theories adapted to today's society.

I think that this topic is interesting for the potential on self-knowledge. Not need to be

a humanistic psychology to use the Enneagram, self-knowledge and spiritual growth.

Santiago: the beautiful and the ugly

My vision of Santiago is very positive because I love this city with my entire hearth.

First, I love live in the capital: Santiago is the place of the opportunities in Chile because the majority of the things happens here: the best concerts, the art exhibitions, etcetera.

Second, Santiago is a big city with six millions of habitants, this place never finish! This is wonderful because to get bore is impossible, the possibilities are infinite.

But, for the other hand, Santiago have a many problems. I hate the geographic segregation: the rich people live in a place and the poor people in other place, that is not fair! In addition, the pollution will kill us someday and the public transport makes me cry, really.

For the change this situation we need finish with segregation:  rich people and poor people in the same place! No more exclusive neighborhoods!

We need renewable energy, recycle programs and education for the population. The people need know how recycle and why.

In the transport is completely necessary build more lines of underground and put in the Estate’s hands the Transantiago.

If I met a visitor, I would give him or her many tips: first, bargain the prices. Second, make  friends in order not visit the dangerous neighborhoods alone (because he must meet all Santiago) and, third, visit Barrio Bellavista, the museums, and the forest park, are beautiful and very fun! 

Dreams

I have many dreams and ambitions, in fact, I am always thinking in the future, sometimes this thing is a problem for me because it does not let me live in the present. On the other hand, fortunately I can say that many dreams of the past are a reality today.

My intention to specialize in psychology of education, for this, I dream with a master’s degree program in education in Scandinavia (Finland, Norway or Sweden). Scandinavia is the best place in the world for study education in my opinion, because these countries have the best educational systems of the world.

On the other hand, I would love to know Finland, Norway and Sweden, with their beautiful nature and wonderful landscapes! In addition, the culture is very interesting: metal music and Munch! (yes, Munch, the Norwegian painter).

My mom is an enthusiast teacher; she teaches me education is the most important thing in the life. She and the wonderful educational system of Finland inspired me for this dream. If I fulfill this ambition, I will realize two important sides of me: the academic side and adventurer side.

My favourite song (in this moment!)

Hello people!

In this moment, exist a song that makes me dream. Every time that I listen it I feel a intense sensation in my heart, I don’t know why  but I don’t care, the most important thing for me is the sensation, not the explanation

I don’t understand the lyrics because they are very confusing and metaphoric, in spite of this, I feel each word as if that was the most beautiful poetry.

This song be called “Lethean”, the band is Katatonia, sweden’s doom metal masters. I love them!

I listened this song for first time in the last year when the band launches their last album: “Dean end kings”. “Lethean” was a first single launched of it and the first song (of Dead end Kings) inspired the musical video.

Everyone tells me song is very sad and depressive, I don’t think that. Although it is true that this is not happiest music in the world (yes, the band is a little dark, just a little…), really I don’t feel bad with it. On the contrary, I feel a strong sensation: this song makes me feel human, mortal and eternal in the present.

My favourite chilean psychologist

In this time, I write about an important picture for me: my photo with Claudio Naranjo.

Claudio Naranjo is a very important humanistic psychologist. He was a direct disciple of Fritz Perls and he studies gestalt psychology, the enneagram of the personality, the problems of the education, among others.

The last year, Claudio Naranjo went to Chile for his conference: “males del mundo, males del alma”, he is Chilean but he lives in United States.

He is my only idol alive, for this, I was very excited with his visit.

A stranger took this photo because Macarena (a colleague, without her I would have never been able to go to the conference, because she bought the tickets before) was away from me in this moment. It was taken in 17 April, the day of the conference.

I love this photo because I admire Claudio Naranjo, I love his book “The enneagram of personality” and I loved his conference, It was wonderful! The topics, his stance in relation with the soul, the freedom, everything was perfect and with this photo I will never forget this day. 

The internet

The internet it’s for me a guilty pleasure.  Pleasure because it’s very funny but guilty because I feel a lost a long time…  I hate this sensation when I realized how long I have lost in procrastinating.

However, sometimes I use the internet for a noble things like a look for information, read a blogs, books, magazines; in my bests moments, use the internet for delve the class’s contents.

But, in my daily life, I use tumblr, facebook, twitter, you tube… without educative purposes. I often visit a website www.ascodevida.com , I laugh so much with this site! Because in this, the people write theirs anecdotes, but only theirs very bad anecdotes. In fact, the slogan is “Your tragedy can be ours joke”. I know, I know, it’s black humor, but it’s funny!

I discovered this site two years ago when a friend recommends me. I am very grateful with him.

Anyway, maybe I should spend my time in my studies or in something makes me think. Someday I will get this noble purpose, someday…

Hi! I'm Cristina but everyone call me Kiki. I am a psychology student in the University of Chile. In this course (English III), I am forced to make a blog with my English adventures, but I must accept that this activity looks very interesting... however, I love psychology, philosophy and education .
In my free time, I like to cook and go out. I enjoy very much the science fiction novels and I hates the summer, I love the winter with its cold temperatures, with the rain and the pale sun.
I am a assistant in the subject of Philosophy and I love this job because enjoy very much help and teach.
